Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 Jun 2026
Meine Haltestelle is a public transport departure board app and website operated by Artur Kalin, hello@meine-haltestelle.de. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app, widget, API, and website at meine-haltestelle.de.
Data We Process
The app does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, contacts, photos, or precise location.
To provide departure information and basic service statistics, we process:
- stop searches entered in the app;
- selected stop IDs, line/direction parameters, and region information;
- technical request data such as timestamp, endpoint, response status, and IP address in server infrastructure logs.
How We Use Data
We use this data to:
- search public transport stops;
- show upcoming departures;
- operate the home screen widget;
- protect the API from abuse;
- understand aggregate usage, such as daily, weekly, and monthly request counts;
- diagnose service errors.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use the data for advertising. We do not track users across apps or websites.
Public Transport Data Providers
The service uses public transport data providers, including VBN/OpenService for Bremen, HVV/Geofox for Hamburg, and VBB/HAFAS for Berlin. When you search for a stop or request departures, the backend may send the relevant stop query or stop identifier to these providers.
Caching and Retention
Search and departure responses may be cached temporarily to reduce load and improve performance.
Aggregated, non-personal usage statistics (such as request counts) may be stored for service analytics. Server logs may be retained for security and debugging. We delete or rotate operational data when it is no longer needed.
Website Analytics
The website may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate page usage. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Your Rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Because the app does not use accounts and does not store personal identifiers, we may not be able to identify your specific records unless you provide enough technical information to locate them.
Security
The API is served over HTTPS. Provider API keys are stored on the backend and are not included in the app. Admin statistics are protected by authentication.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, backend, or analytics practices change. The current version will be published on this page.
